Do You Need a Bali Itinerary or Just Go?

     Bali is located on the island of Indonesia which is known for its amazing beaches and beautiful coastlines. It is also the primary city people fly into to get to the world-famous Gilly Islands. These islands host millions of partiers every year especially Australian partiers. Check out my other blog article on scuba diving in Gilly T for more information on the Gilly Islands. Bali is absolutely gorgeous and its beaches are some of the best in the world.

Arriving at Denpasar Airport

     Denpasar airport can be a bit overwhelming if you have never been to an airport on this side of the world. When you get to the front exit area there will be hundreds of people yelling at you trying to get into their taxi. I’m not exaggerating when I say hundreds.

     You don’t need a taxi if you are staying in Depensar for the first night. This is my go-to move when visiting cities for the first time. I will stay the first night in a hostel or hotel that is walkable from the airport. This allows me to gain my bearings at my own pace. You can walk to the city downtown from the airport and I have done it many times before. During the day you should have absolutely no problem walking the mile into the city if you choose.

Where to Start in Bali?

     Denpasar will be your starting point due to the majority of people flying into Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar Indonesia. There are tons of activities to keep you busy for a day or two. There is an amazing mile/kilometer walk that you can do on the main road and see tons of touristy shops. These shops will also book any activities you may want to do. Remember, negotiation is key and you can talk them down. The hustling sellers here have a tendency to come off a bit more assertive than other Asian cities I have traveled to. I don’t know if that is just the way or not but be aware. If you say no a few times and have your headphones and sunglasses on you will be just fine. 

What Else is in Bali?

     The next place in Bali you will hear about is Ubud. Ubud Bali offers tranquility, relaxation, and gorgeous scenery. Two activities that I have done in Ubud were ATV riding and white water river rafting. Both of these experiences were phenomenal and loads of fun. The “Bali Swing” is also in Ubud. The number of fun activities in Ubus could go on endlessly. There is an adventure for every day of the week. 

In Conclusion: You Do Not Need a Bali Itinerary

     Bali is one of those places you can go to and simply relax and enjoy yourself. Once you get outside the hustle and bustle of Denpasar you will quickly see how enlightening Bali can be. Bali is one of those places that I will come back to again and again and each time will offer more fun experiences. When booking and planning your Bali vacation be sure and take your time. Sending an email to guides and emailing hostels can lead to a lot of savings.🤑
