A look inside the city that surrounds the Great Pyramid

           The pyramids were amazing but the city was a bit different. It is kind of hard to explain if you aren’t there but from many of the hotels and hostels, you can see the pyramids. The city is only a few blocks from the pyramids. This was really cool in some ways but not cool in others. I know the movies make it seem as if the Great Pyramid is miles upon miles from civilization but that is just not true. The city is within walking distance and you could walk to the Pyramids within 20 minutes.

Can you go inside the pyramids?

Even though that part threw me back a little bit the pyramids themselves did not disappoint. They are massive and beautiful and once you get inside they are humongous. It was amazing to actually touch the inside hieroglyphics. When you get the opportunity to explore you have to go numerous stories below ground to do so.

The pictures I have attached show the crazy claustrophobic tunnel you have to climb down to get to the pyramid treasures. I won’t spoil the surprises for you but when you do reach the bottom your mouth with drop-in aww for sure. Climbing up and down the pyramid stairs will take it out of you for sure. I was there for about a week and every day was doing a different adventure and was tired after every day.

Your adventure to the pyramids of Egypt will be an amazing one for sure but remember that this place does not have a KFC or Mcdonalds. The city surrounding the pyramids is not a rich one and that will be seen rather quickly. However, the people are nice and very intrigued by tourists. Throughout my stay, I did not run into any trouble and felt relatively safe. It is was an amazing experience and a must add to your travel bucket list.
