When I think about holiday road trips, I undoubtedly think of the United States of America and traveling through its vast countryside on a motorcycle or in a vintage campervan. In 2018 I completed a 48 State road trip across the entire North American continent and it was mind-opening. Next, I was introduced to European road trips. While traveling I spent a lot of time sitting in the car trying to relax when I wasn’t driving. It was then that I read about the first-ever road trip. I didn’t even know that was a thing but it was. The first official road-trip took place in Germany way back in 1888.
