Leon & Granada Nicaragua “Volcano Boarding Leon & Tree Houses”
Volcano boarding and living in tree-houses is just another day in Nicaragua
Leon & Granada Nicaragua “Volcano Boarding Leon & Tree Houses”
The Journey Starts in Leon Nicaragua
Leon Nicaragua was a completely random choice and all I can say is, “WOW.” This place was amazing just based on the number of activities you can do. Now, I’m going, to be honest, the town was a bit boring and there wasn’t much of an actual nightlife other than what the hostel made but that’s all you needed. While I was there I was able to play soccer, plant trees, work at a school, go volcano boarding Leon tour, and eat tons of delicious food.
Leon Nicaragua Hostel Life
Big Foot Hostel is where the party is at. They also have a huge hostel so plenty of beds and space to enjoy. Also, they will handle everything needed with your volcano boarding Leon tour and scheduling volunteer opportunities. This was a really cool hostel and had great employees. Leon is an interesting city because last year in 2019 they were still rebounding with some major government issues. Many hostels had to shut down and the tourism industry was impacted hard. Now that coronavirus has also occurred I’m curious how the rebounding process will happen and if it will.

I really hope Leon Nicaragua rebounds because it was an amazing city and a top 5 in central America for myself. The top reason for stopping in Leon Nicaragua is VOLCANO BOARDING!! Volcano boarding is exactly what it sounds like. First, you hike up a volcano which can be a bit tiring. Next, you will speed down the volcano at speeds that can reach 100+ kilometers an hour, YES I said 100+ kilometers an hour. This experience was one of a kind and I hope you get to partake next time you are in Central America.

On to Granada Nicaragua
Next, I headed out to Granada Nicaragua to discover the infamous TREEHOUSE HOSTEL. This hostel lived up to its name and the exciting Friday night rave parties. The hostel itself was very unique as well. You could stay in a treehouse, bunk beds, hammocks, or a private bungalow. The hostel was located in what you would call an actual jungle. The animals would howl at night and you felt as if you were Tarzan or George of the Jungle. This was the cherry on top after going volcano boarding or so I thought………Stay tuned for San Juan del Sur Nicaragua.
