Cape Point has a view that can literally knock you off your feet

Cape Point Campground, Wild Monkeys, South African Penguins & a Lighthouse

The bus ride from Cape Town to Cape Point was a few hours but it was worth it because the non-bus line was extremely long. We had to wait 20 minutes and we were in. I’d suggest the bus for sure because it was less than 50$ and you didn’t have to do anything but relax.

Cape Point was absolutely mesmerizing. The lighthouse was a quick hike up the side of a cliff and the views were beautiful. There were some crazy little monkeys running around stealing stuff so that brought me back to Malaysia all over again. At one point the monkeys got completely out of control stealing tourist lunches that security brought out the tasers. Cape Point Campground and Caravanning accommodations can be difficult to find so plan beforehand. Register beforehand to save money. 

Penguins Await

After Cape Point, you get to stop at Boulder Beach which is home of South African Penguins. These little penguins are absolutely adorable. they just run around making noises and falling over. Seeing penguins in Africa was quite mind-blowing at first but then it kind of made sense when you think about the geographical location. Seeing the penguins was very cool but it is a major tourist trap so prepare for that.

There will be 20+ buses parked all of which are full of tourists so that can a bit of an annoyance. Besides the number of people that are present the attraction is run rather well. Make sure that you already have a ticket to get in before showing up or you could have to wait in a very long line. After you see the penguins you get back on the bus to head back to Cape Town. Overall it was a great day trip for 50$.
